Self Help Addiction Referral Programme Liverpool

Our Liverpool day treatment programme adheres to our Self Help Addiction Recovery Programme (SHARP) model, which involves 48 days’ attendance at our treatment centre in Liverpool’s L1 district over 11 weeks. Prior to admission, participants may choose either a 12 Step or cognitive approach to their treatment. This is a post-detoxification, abstinence-based programme, meaning participants must be abstinent from alcohol and drugs prior to commencing the programme. Pre-abstinence support is available for those who need it and an aftercare programme is available for those who complete treatment successfully.

Key elements of the programme
  • Assessment (by telephone or face-to-face)
  • Prison-based assessments
  • Interpersonal group therapy
  • Peer-to-peer support
  • Individual counselling
  • Relapse prevention training
  • Workshops and life-skills groups
  • Social and educational activities
Important Information

Participants must have been both drug and alcohol free for a minimum of 24 hours prior to starting the programme.

Supervised detoxification is not available at this location, however people may be referred to Clouds House, our specialist treatment centre, for medically supervised withdrawal prior to taking up a place on the programme.
